Click on the change your language link at the bottom of the homepage to see the full selection. The name and flag of the language you’ve selected will appear under the logo in the upper left corner. Your race results and typing speed will be saved separately for each, so it’s easy to track your progress in any language.
TypeRacer has always appealed to an international audience, and I’m happy to give you all the ability to race in your language. Even if English is your primary language, it’s fun to learn how to type in other languages. So far, I’ve mastered Spanish and French, and struggling with Russian, as you can see in the screenshot above.
This release represents a giant leap into the future for TypeRacer, but it isn’t perferct. For one thing, the text translations need more work. We used Google Translate on the English texts and the results, at best, are easy to type but don’t make much sense. In the worst case, some of the translations might contain left-over English characters and punctuation, requiring a brief switch of keyboard layouts to type them. We’ve tried to correct all the texts to the best of our ability, but with all these languages, we now have 23000 texts to keep track of! Let us know if you see any errors in your language and we’ll try to fix them right away.
TypeRacer International is still a work in progress. Over the coming months, we’ll work on improving the text quality and also translating the menus and captions. But the main thing right now is to get more people typing in other languages, so that you’re not just racing against bots. We need your help to spread the word. Send out the URL for the homepage in your language to all your friends or go head-to-head with them in a private racetrack for your language of choice. We have empty high scores to fill in every language, so start racing!

The “Typing challenge” (cheat detector) in the Chinese language gives pictures with white squares as text.
I think you have done a great job ^_^
I’d like to recommend something that can be improved:
1) In my language(Vietnamese), I have problems in typing special character. For example, to type “chào” (hello), I must type ‘c’,’h’,’a’,’f’,’o’ (using Telex IME). But after I type ‘a’, it is counted as a typo, because ‘à’ ‘a’.
2) The google translate may be good if we just want to have a quick & general understanding. It’s crap otherwise, and I sometimes don’t get what I’m typing(especially the lyric)
The texts in catalan have tons of errors. I suggest you to correct it or change it… I think I am the only user, but Ill tell my friends! Nice to see catalan here.
I think I found a bug: I typed exactly in Vietnamese, but the program simply didn’t proceed to the next word.
Reason: I think it’s maybe because there’s more than one way to type a word in Vietnamese. Globalization is hard, anyway.
I am getting random bugs ever since the new version was rolled.
For example:
* my score is 0 until the end of the race;
* my score was marked 0 and not counted due to time out, although there was at least one more minute left at the counter
* many times the red box appears saying something wrong has happened.
The site was rock solid before the new release, so I am pretty sure it was caused by it. I love the site and it helped me a lot (moved from nil to 50 wpm on colemak within three weeks, with relaxed training) – but these bugs have to be cleared.

Yuval – if you’re using Firefox, make sure you don’t have the Ad Block Plus extension enabled because it’s misbehaving on the latest javascript code. This will be fixed for the next release, of course.

Oh, please help me. I can’t type in Vietnamese. Whenever I type a special character, it comes typo, and I have to press “enter” to continue typing another word. How can I type if I have to enter after EACH word?
Maybe I don’t know how to type in the right way. Can somebody help me with this?

Raheema, Jensen: Almost EVERYONE on latest high-scores is using a program! Let the cheaters bask in their sheer folly; Those who put in REAL keyboard time will have the last laugh. 😉
raas: most people on recent high scores are NOT using a program. I’ve raced RamboUAE many times, he is legitimate.
I am faster than him, and I don’t use a program. There are plenty of people who can type 140-150 legitimately (and some quite a bit higher).
raas: i agree with anonymous, i have raced RAMBOO 100’s of times and believe he HAS put in “real keyboard time” and is legit.
Jensen: can’t you get on the board? have some faith 🙂 many people on the latest 20 can type, cheaters are a minority.
Google translate makes text no meaning in other languages. I wonder why typeracer doesn’t collect texts which are originally from those languages. Any typeracer can help you do so. The text we type in our own languages will be more meaningful and interesting than those craps. We also can know more about our literature.

In my own opinion those national texts had to be from books written in their respective national languages —not translations from other languages.
(( The same thing for the case of movies and songs. ))

I’ve just known the typeracer has released the international feature, so just tried to type in Japanese.
I made 113 cpm in Japanese, but the system suspected if I was cheating. The system gave tests, however, I couldn’t understand what were wrote in the test box.
I’m hoping if the system displays proper Japanese characters. Wondering if the character codes are different between what the system uses and what the browser uses?
I’m using Firefox with adblock plug-in. However, after disable adblock plug-in, still I cannot read the cheating test sentence, only displays white blocks and curious lines….

I finished more than three thousands of race, you try to end more than 10 thousand race and you will see why I withdrew sometimes.
If you do not believe me, Ask Aram, who typed 142 words per minute versus 136 words per minute in the same race
And he has an average of 82 words per minute, versus 87 words per minute. Naturally, I could type 150 words versus 142 words from Aram. Not to mention the difference between the races between us

That’s why I think that we must find a solution for “entrust” texts to someone, someone who will be a regular typer in his own language, of course, who will translate texts according to the good spelling and grammar rules appropriate to each country.
I noticed, in my own language, the french, (one of the most beautiful tongue in the world), be massacred by horrible various mistakes.

But, i think license and permission will be a great deal on that one.
If admin still decided to use recent phrases, why don’t ask typeracer user from foreign countries to translate it first. I’m pretty sure they’ll help.

Typeracer.com is one of my favorite sites, and I love going on it when I have free time. I can’t get enough of it!
RambooUAE I’ve enjoyed racing you many times with sds, Dilys and others, when you were typing in high 70’s and you didn’t have a century yet. Whilst we have made modest improvements since that time your speed has increased dramatically! How have you done this? Please share – so we too can improve!

I request that all those accusing various people of cheating bear in mind that though you may not imagine how someone could type so quickly as you see posted on the leaderboard, it is quite possible and done routinely. Please accept that you are not able to watch another race participant and determine that they are cheating, even if you think you know very well how patterns in speed should appear during a single race, or how much a person’s scores should vary from the average. You don’t.
Kindly use the report feature and save us all the stress of slander.

I really HOPE that someday each and every slow typeracer in the world became an IMPROVED and fast typist.
I ABSOLUTELY know that the TypeRacer helps.
When I am in a typerace I use to imagine it as a COMMUNAL touch-typing practice —like to be practicing but at the same time playing to be a “fast” typist.
I think this is something which makes the TypeRacer so DIFFERENT from other Internet pastimes: Here you practice (you play) the touch-typing technique but your improved accuracy and swiftness integrates into your life as a very useful ability and one big benefit of that ability is to be apt to transcribe your thoughts and ideas into the word processor without so much clutter.

I just tested out the Finnish language TypeRecer and I’m sorry to tell that the translations made absolutely no sense, they had English words all over and for some reason I can’t understand, individual letters around.
I think I’m going to keep playing the English version because it’s nicer to write text that actually makes sense. I wish you can get some better way to translate the texts.

I want to become a medical biller/coder administrator and do transcriptionist on the side. I am currently taking ms word and my speed is stuck at 65wpm my accuracy is up above 95% which is the requirement of the class. Would like to see some paragraphs with medical terminology

google transliterate does helps to type in different language – example Hindi but typeracer does not accept it. is there anyway to make this helpful with out installing language packs.
I’m from Indonesia. When I switch the english language to indonesia, it works! but the indonesia status is only valid untill I was clicked the pitstop to see my profile. and, it don’t sync! after I viewed my profile, when I’m going back to race, It’s switched again to english!

The default language for Typeracer is English, and the other languages exist in their own “universes”. If you want to switch to a different language, you have to click the link each time you come to the page, and you will see the “universe” for that language. Hopefully in the future we will have time to make Typeracer easier to use for people who don’t want to type in English. For now, please be patient and choose your language each time you come to Typeracer.
