Santa also has something in store for the naughty ones who haven’t upgraded yet. 😉 If you don’t have a cool avatar, TypeRacer selects a randomly-colored VW Beetle icon to represent you in each race, but starting today, you can choose the color you like best.
Just update your profile to select one of the cool or standard avatars. Happy holidays!

Good to see major improvements happening on Typeracer. This is the first time I’ve felt my membership has been of some benefit.
My suggestion has been applied 😀 I’m happy for the premium members although I would like one of those snazzy vehicles. Maybe free upgrade for everyone on top 100 highscores, that be nice. I’m not there yet but Im going to catch up in a few monthes 🙂
Good work Alex I was expecting that free members would have the same benefit but anyhow even changing the car color is a bit of an option for FREE MEMBERS.

Though I am not a very famous user of Typeracer but I love this website.
How about doing tournaments on this website as well? Secondly, offering a free premium upgrade for the “best racer of the month”? :p How you’ll decide the best racer I’ll leave that on you (that is if you actually introduce such a feature).
Lastly, I think the best thing for premium users can be to be able to write their own names on their cars? I mean the stickers? Or just the initials for now?

How about having Highest Scores for every level that we have (Megaracer, Typemaster, Pro, Average, Intermediate & Beginner) on the page?
It’s quite discouraging for the people who are not Megaracers and don’t stand any chance to see their names on the Top 20 list. It would really be motivating for people with different typing skills at different levels as they would be able to see where they stand and how fast they’re.
Just a suggestion.

Lol! I’m glad I’m not a member! The standard avatars look way better than “cool avatars”! The “cool avatars” are so LAME!
One suggestion: Can the bot racers be assigned special avatars? It’s pretty inconvenient to have to reach for my mouse to find out if the guy I’m racing against is a real person or just a funny looking typewriter with eyes.
Looks awesome! The avatars expand even more, I would like a runner for a avatar though. (BECAUSE I’M A FAST RUNNER, AND I LOVE RACING OTHER PEOPLE BY FOOT)
